I could really do with some help. This is only my sons 2nd ever party (he had one 3 years ago but had a bouncy castle and problems within my family meant he had a special day out the last 2 years) Anyway his party is this tuesday, we are having it in a club (social club) so there are plenty of tables and chairs and also quite a bit of space if needed. However I am struggling for games.
I am thinking musical statues/chairs
possibly having some crayons and some print outs at one of the tables???
Money is tight on the party budget as I overspent on his presents
so can't really do pass the parcel.
Any more suggestions?
Thankyou in advance to everyone

not sure how old he is but a game we do at parties is
get newspaper and put one pice down per child
they all have to stand on a piece then when the music starts
they have to dance (away from the paper) when the music stops
they have to find a piece of paper to stand on
each time the adult removes one piece a bit like musical chairs really
found this link too they seem to have a few things on there

Thanks threelittlepigs. My son will be 6. sounds like a good game although quite similar to musical chairs so I may use your version instead.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0

Hi
Print outs and crayons are a great idea as it gives them a bit of time out space. He is only a couple of weeks older than my DS and I think, as long as I picked carefully, I would get away with the print outs from the cbeebies site.
Another activity idea is to get each of the children to draw a picture for your son and put their name on it, if you then made sure you took a picture of each child (digital camera hopefully) you could collate them in a scrapbook for your son as a reminder of his birthday.
Games wise is a hard one as anymore than four boys seems to get boystrous. There are all the old fashioned ones like pin tail on the donkey, perhaps it could be pin the light sabre on darth vadar? What about the passing a balloon with no hands, simon says or could you do something along the lines of runaround (the kids tv show).
I've just been doing accounts so my brain isn't in the right frame of mind but I'll give it some thought and come back with any others I can think of.0 -

If the children are old enough you could get various pictues cut them up into 5 or 6 pieces. use pictures such as a cat or cartoon character then hide them all around the hall ,Each child then has to find the pieces to make their puzzle.
If you are short of money for pass the parcel just buy a bag of cheap lollies or something you can buy a bag of these really cheap put a sweet between each layer then perhaps put 3 as the main prize. all kids then get a sweet.
Even apple bobbing kids enjoy0 -
i am just trying to remember other games ive played at my sons birthday. As previous opp says boys just want to run around . The best one my son used to love was make teams if u can get some cheap balloons just blow up lots give each team a colour and let them jump on the balloons and the wining team is the one who bursts their balloons first. I know its noisy but they do love it.0

i used to love get a bowl and fill it with flour, than take the bowl off, and use a knife to cut a slice off, whoever knocks most off it down, the person before wins a small prizei will be debt free, i will0

A game I play with my class at the end of term is with chocolate, you need a large bar of chocolate, a dice, knife and fork. Children sit in a circle and each takes it in turn to throw the dice. If a child gets a 6, they get to 'have a go' at the chocolate with the knife and fork - they are only allowed to eat one square at a time and continue to cut and eat chocolate until the next person throws a 6.0

Thankyou for all the suggestions. really appreciate it. OH is going to put the theme tune for star wars on a disc for so to continuasly play in the background.
He says he has also sorted the pass the parcel which amazes me as I knew nothing about it and he told me we could only do a big party if I didn't overspend lol (guess he has a heart really)
I like the baloon games where the children have to pop them so will probably do that one with musical statues and have some crayons and print outs on one of the tables.
Thanks once again
