Can't Get PPS on Vista Home Premium

Hi, Don't know if anyone can help here, I have recently got a laptop loaded with Vista Home Premium.
My problem is I can't read any power point presentations. The error message I get is:-
This file does not have a programme associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Association panel
Can anybody advise me on the easiest/best way to sort this out. Thanks

If you don't have MS Office, download the free Powerpoint viewer from Microsoft

I have found Powerpoint viewer 2007 in my programmes but still have to save the PPS attachments in my documents before I can view. My desktop runs XP and works fine straight from the email but not so with this Vista !!!! :o

    Good.

It is carelessness like opening attachments straight from email that spreads viruses.

I'm not sure if your trying to blame Vista or not, but it is doing nothing wrong compared to your XP system.

I believe its fine to open attachments from recognised sources after having a fairly comprehensive robust security package in place

Be very sure, I'm not apportioning blame to anybody.... where did you get that from. All I am asking for some advise from someone who may have a solution to my problem....... Isn't that what this thread is all about:confused:

I still have the problem if anybody can assist

I think OpenOffice's Impress can view Powerpoint files as well.

OpenOffice allows you to view and edit PowerPoint files. Version 3.0, which was just released, is much better on Vista and also supports MS Office 2007 files.

Thanks Mike..... Seems like the ideal solution for Vista anyway. Many Thanks to all that have made useful suggestions :T
