Is it still worth claiming?

I'm pretty sure this has been answered at least 100 times on here, but I'm new to all this and am finding it all a bit overwhelming.

My situation:

I had a temporary overdraft facility a few months back which wasn't cleared in time. It was my own fault with over spending etc, instead of cutting back when I knew the end of the 3 months was coming. Admittedly I had extended the facility a couple of times but then found I wasn't able to do this again. So I ended up with an unauthorised overdraft of £300, which was taken off me when I was paid again, leaving me barely £300 in the plus. After my monthly out goings I was left with next to nothing. I was then charged for being £300 overdrawn - which left me over-drawn again. And yet again I was charged, and again left over-drawn.

This vicious circle has been going on long enough, and I intend to clear the overdraft once and for all, as well as claim back my overdraft fees.

I don't think I qualify to go down the "financial hardship" route, as the majority of it is due to my overspending and, to put it bluntly, my own stupidity. I live with my parents so don't have much outgoings in terms of mortgage/rent/bills and so on, so it's not as if i "need" the money for anything like that.

So, yeah. Are the banks not looking at any claims at the moment? (with the exception of those in hardship?). Is it still worth writing to them, even just to get "in the queue" so to speak? Has anyone had a response from their bank recently despite the case still being on going?

I'm with LloydsTSB before anyone asks :)

The bit in bold is not relevant to financial hardship. You are blaming yourself which while understandable(we all do have those moments) does not form part of the FSA Waiver.
The waiver is at the following link, annex 2
