When trying to impress Mrs D, cuddly toys always went down well - what girl can resist them? especially if the cuddly toy was holding another gift such as the earrings.
Just in case Mrs D is reading this, I'm always trying to impress her....0 -
Vouchers for massage, facials, relaxation days and the like at one of our local salons or health clubs always seem to go down well with Mrs M - and our two daughters too.
Great thing is, you can get them for pretty well any value you like, and the ladies can usually choose which specific treatment they want.
Best thing though, is when they come home maybe 3 months or more after you've given the gift and say (for the second time) what a wonderful pressie it was!!!
Definitely on my giving list again this year.0 -
I like the earlier idea of sending a card from the restaurant with a time for her to be there....must mention that to my boyfriend in the vague hope he discovers a little romance! Definitely not scarf & gloves.....if you're trying to sweep her off her feet then that isn't going to yell "romance" at her.
How about a Clarins or Lancome gift set - they have some offers on at the moment - you could get her a fab set for about £30. Or how about Swarovski jewellery? Absolutely gorgeous and sparkly - I've just bought a couple from a shop on ebay as presents and at about a third of what they cost in the shops - not sure if I'm allowed to post the link here. Or.......get one of those "France for a £1" vouchers from the papers and take her for dinner....in Boulogne! A day out, dinky local restaurant and it would cost about £60 (i've done it).
Good luck!0 -
Definately go with the Christmas stocking idea, us girlies often do things like that for each other and I'm sure she would be thrilled to think you had put so much thought into her gift.
Try Monsoon and Accesorize for lovely floaty scarves and sparkly bag charms and things to go with the chocs and and earrings.:snow_laug HM Christmas 2010

ArsenalFC wrote:I think earrings, chocolates and flowers are fab. Now I'll need to search around for a good pair of earrings, suggestions of which shops required. Chocolates I'll get from thorton as I've done and gave her on her birthday. Flowers..... i am working on xmas eve, so shops will be closed early then. I may have to order them early.
Why not try here for flowers - there's a £10 discount if you order before Dec 1st for Xmas delivery and they throw in the chocolates! for free! A nice expample would be the 'white Xmas bouquet' which comes in at £22.50 after the discount - that should leave enough for some earrings!
Also, if buying earrings - do check if she wears gold or silver normally - I love silver but can't wear it in my ears, oh and I guess you'll know if hers are pierced or not!A lot of places won't let your return earrings for hygeine reasons, so try and aim for something similar to what she has already!
Best of luck.HLK

Anything from Lush would go down well with me. Their stuff smells divine, and it lasts for ages and ages. And, like that advert, I would like the perfect handbag, not too big, not too small, goes with every outfit.0

Thanks guys n girls for your suggestions.
Card from restaurant and day trip to france are very good surprises, but she is not my gf so these will be rule out. (Hope one day she will be so can use these) Beauty facial treatment is also a good idea which I can use at a later date.
I quite like the idea of a beauty gift set and a cuddly toy to go with the chocs and flowers; can also include the scarf too. Christmas stocking then with a number of gifts!
I think I will drop the earrings as I dont really know which types she likes. Flowers, I will probably get from a local shop to deliver them like on the 24th as postal ones cannot be sure when it will be delivered. This way it is closest to xmas.
Ok girls which beauty set are good to get and where from. Also are their any offers on at the moment, maybe from boots? I dont mind spending upto £50 on this. Clarins or lancome gift set for £30, where?0 -
