DVD Chapter t Youtube/Facebook

I have a DVD from Camcorder, that has organised each clip into Chapters.

The DVD has been finialised, and Windows Media Player can see the Chapters, but how do I edit out only the Chapters that I need to be able to upload.

I have taken a quick look at Windows Movie Maker, but not even figure out how to open the DVD.

Help.

You can use DVD decrypter in IFO mode to rip individual chapters.

Once switched to IFO mode, you can browse by "title" in the right hand pane, select a "title" (if there's more than one,) and tick / untick the chapters you want to "rip" in the bottom pane.

The output will be a .VOB file which you will save to your hard drive.

I thought that you'd then be able to open these in Windows Movie Maker or VirtualDub, but alas not. - I guess it's deliberately difficult so that people don't go ripping and sharing commercial DVD's.

So the best thing to do if you want the clip to be in a compressed format suitable for upload to youtube etc. is download and install AutoGK, input the VOB file, specify a Custom file-size limit (ideally allow 10mb per minute for quality , but less if you need to for a smaller file / quicker upload.) It takes ages on a slower computer.You can pick any specific settings you require in advanced settings. The output file will now be a small neat DivX / XVid video.Youtube accepts these fine.
