Strange thing with CapitalOne

Hello again, I just wanted to see what people thought of my experience with Capital One.
I recently applied for their Platinum card, but I received a letter though saying sorry I could not have that card, but could have one of their "classic visa" cards. I signed the paperwork and sent it back.
I have now received through a Capital One Platinum MasterCard. Nothing was mentioned when it was activated, and I am able to log into my account on line.
When I received the card, there was nothing else to suggest that it was a Platinum card other than the design.
Any ideas anyone?

Capital One operate a "Rate for Risk" policy that means that they reserve the right to issue a card with less benefits to the one that you applied for.
This happens regularly and is reported on here most weeks, so I think this is what they have done with your application.0 -
I understand that they "said" they would issue me with a lower card, but they then send me the original card that I applied for...the Platinum.
I was just wondering if they have simply made a mistake, or they just decided to change their mind and issue me with the card I wanted.0 -

Don't worry about what the card looks like (all the Capital One cards I have had have been Platinum), its what it says in your Terms and Conditions that counts.0 -
