AMEX Platinum 5% Cashback - Am I Thick?

I don't understand how this is calculated. All I know is if I spend 4k in the first 3 months I ought to get £200 back. In their explanation they talk about doubling my eligible spend during the first 3 months. But surely that would only be true if the normal rate is 2.5% cashback which is news to me.
Can anyone help. after 3 months my eligible spend figure is 5372.
Thanks
R.

Ignore it.
It doens't make sense to anyone, but unless you think AMEX will renage on their offer then there is no reason to worry.0 -
