A question about student bursary/grant quite worried

Please could anyone tell me what happens if parents income is assessed and
student loan/bursary entitlement is given based on this and then one parent is made redundant.
The household income is approx £40,000 and loan/bursary is given on this but after the assessment one parent loses job and income goes down to about 20,000.
If the award is made on the higher income and child starts uni and then parent loses job - what would happen?
Thanks

you need to get in contact with the SLC & possibley your LEA to inform them that your circumstances have changed.
they will review your case i think x0 -
I thought the loans an grants were based on the parents income in the previous tax year. The change in circumstance being effective for the next year.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

If there has been a significant change of circumstances, such that the income will be 85% or less than the income-level the original assessment was based on, the LEA will re-assess you. Contact them, let them know the situation and ask what evidence they require.0

Yes shivster is right, if your parents earn 30% less this financial year they send you some forms to fill in...im still waiting for mine which is holding up my application.0
