Hi Everyone,
Has any of you ever had an Acer laptop?, Good Experiences/Bad Experiences? Should I stick with my first thought which was a Dell ?
Thanks for any advice,
HoneyPie

I know that quite a lot of both Acer and Dell laptops suffered from a problem in their displays which caused vertical lines to appear, it was due to a bad batch of LCD panels though, I think it's fixed now with newer laptops.
Otherwise, their both quite good, Dell have decent tech support, though I've never had to use Acer support so I can't comment.0 -
Been using Dells for years, no major problems.0

Speaking generally, Dell tend to use better components then Acer. And obviously if ANY component was to fail then its not good............:idea:0

Had a acer travelmate lappy(basic model the one tesco had for £299) now for four years, i've had no no problems with it ,easy to upgrade (ram, Hdd);)
Brother inlaw had a dell it came with loads of software on it that just slowed it down and had a few problems with dvd rw.0 -
My wife's acer laptop has been fine, she's had it about a year without need for support issues. It's getting a bit slower now, but may just need upgrading. Battery life is shocking compared to my Mac though...:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. We've bought two Acers and a Dell in the last twelve months. My Dell has worked wonderfully with no problems. I've been doing lots of video editing etc so it's been put through its paces.
My son's Acer has lost two keys and probably needs a new keyboard (He is 16 not a little one). The keyboard does seem rather flimsy compared with my Dell.
My daughter's Acer had a problem with loading after the first week so we've gone for a refund. I'll probably get her a Dell.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0 -
Been using Dell for years, Had many Dell computers over the last 10 or so years and only 1 had a problem with a Dell Desktop which was quickly replaced by Dell.0
