Returning RAM to PC world

I bought some RAM from PC World yesterday but I think it might be the wrong type as I can't get it to work. Does anyone know if they'll except returns? It has been out of packaging and I attempted to install it.

Try and see, and if you can, get your RAM from Crucial, which not only offer great advice and checkers for the right type of RAM for your system, but offer a full money back guarantee.
  • If you go in all nice and polite PC World can be quite accomodating, they seem to dig there heels in if your lairy with em. I remember when i bought my compaq laptop from them and a week later I took it back because the DVD drive broke, after checking it out I got another one plus I could pick items from the shop floor upto the value of £25 because I had been nice about it.

You could also say that one of the staff said this was the right ram for your machine but when i tried to install it, apparently it wasnt.
"Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

  • You'll probably struggle as parts such as memory are protectivley sealed when you buy them. No harm in trying though.

If you were advised by a member of PCW staff to purchase that memory make a point of letting the staff know when you try to return it. Even if they didn't you might find claiming they advised you to buy it helps. :A

If you dont get anywhere you should try isofa's suggestion of checking Crucials site to purchase memory, they have a memory selector/advisor which should help you identify the correct memory and it should be a lot cheaper.

    Cheers,
