Morning
I wondered if anyone knew of a local double glazing firm in (or serving) Bristol that they would recommend? I don't want to use a national company as you hear too many horror stories and I can't be doing with all the nonsense of inflated quotes and then knocking them down  . I want someone I can trust!:A
I only have Yell or Brownbook to go on so if anyone has any good experience then I want to hear from you!

Hi. I am in W-S-M which is pretty close to you and would recommend Majestic Designs. They fitted 9 windows for me last year for £6k. The top parts of the windows have internal bars in to look like small panes so they aren't bog standard windows.
The profiles are great, the beading is on the inside, the little panes on the top parts of the windows are classy and the locks etc seem great too. The house was being butchered when the guys were here and they coped well with the electricians, builders, driveway gang and plumbers better than I did and I was the idiot that organised it all!
One of the windows is an Oriol (type of Bay) window where the walls and joist were totally rotten and disintegrated when they took the old ones out. They put an acro-prop in to keep the roof up and boarded it up until I got a joiner to fix the wall and joist and they came back and sorted the window.
They also arranged for the original Art Nouveau stained glass to be fitted inside the stair windows after a bit of moaning from me and didn't charge extra for it - they were originally going to try and stick the stained glass panels onto the new window as they had been on the old window but they slid off as K-glass is too smooth for anything to stick to it..
I have been doing up houses and selling them for years and this is my 9th home. I am hard to please as I know a bit too much about DIY and am a stickler for detail. I did have a few moans at them about little things but they were all sorted out quickly and smoothly. I now have absolutely stunning windows that are far superior to the ones in the conservatory and back door that I didn't replace... My neighbours are green with envy too..
I took their first quote as it was very reasonable and was based on the fact they needed work for a team in 2-3 weeks time. The men were great - if a little wary of the skinny female know-it-all they were working for and used to wave to me as I passed them in my old car on the way to work; they don't recognise my current car.. The boss is a typical double glazing smoothie, the salesman was lovely and Mark the huge scary looking tattooed designer was an utter star.0 -
Having used City Glass (Fishponds branch) for 15 plus years, I would recommend them. When we were quoted for five windows and one french door they were among the cheapest (no hard sale) in the local area. Since then they have supplied a porch and all new pvc weatherboards (removing all wood).
I have also found them happy to come back and fix any problems without hassle. A number of our friends have also used this company.
Hope this is of some use.0
