how do i cross a cheque a/c payee please? dont usually deal with cheques but this is for sons first passport and needs a cheque a/c payee.....

Have a look at your cheque - it will probably already be crossed, that is two angled parallel line across the face of the cheque with a/c payee only pretyped in. If it hasn't then you mark it in. That is over the lines where you write the name of the payee and the amount in words, score two parallel lines so they cross the lines you have written in and then write ac payee only between the two lines you have drawn. If you are still not sure take the application and cheque to the post office and ask them to check your cheque and for a small fee they will check the entire aplication0

I remember when cheques first started having to use "Acount Payee Only" and I had to write this in by hand until I received a new chequebook.0
