You can try - if Lloyds only gave you £3k they may think you have enough debt already.

If you have any old cards with unused credit limits, good idea to get the limits reduced or close the account - that way it doesn't look like you have access to too much credit already.

Worth tring Egg (green) or an MBNA card, both of which are fairly generous with credit limits - but you will pay balance transfer fees with them.

    Good luck.

I'm sure you know this already, but number one rule is if you can't transfer for a while, pay the minimum on your new 0% and as much as you can on the high interest card.

Has to worth trying for another card but if you don't get it, could you arrange an overdraft and then open an Alliance and Leic account, transfer your overdraft and get 12 months 0%? Obviously, you'll need to make sure the bank overdraft rate is OK just in case A&L turn you down.

If you get turned down for another card, it might be best to leave it a while (apart from perhaps trying your own bank) because too many applications for credit, especially unsuccessful ones, can affect your credit rating. Well, that's my understanding, happy to be corrected.
