Am I elegible for tax free interest payments?

I recently opened up the Halifax 10% regular saver whilst living in Korea. I the time I had been out of the country for less then a year. Now a year has passed, I was wondering if I can apply to have my interest paid tax free? I don't intend to move back to the UK any time soon. Thanks for the help
