Child Tax Credit blip?

Checked my bank account the other day, and only £3 Child Tax Credit had gone in, usually £43.87.

Wondered if they'd stopped paying now DS3 is post 16, even though he's stayed on at school so I should still get some?

then a few days later and before I got round to phoning them, £40.33 arrived.

Now, I know I could still phone them and ask if there's something wrong, and please can I have those few extra pennies, but before I do that I wondered if anyone could offer some rational explanation ...

Our income is still well below the £50,000 or whatever it is that means we don't get any at all.

Rational explanation? Regarding CTC errors? You have no chance whatsoever!:rotfl:

    :rotfl: Well, one can hope!

I think, on the "Life's too short to spend it on the phone to Child Tax Credits about something which may not be a problem anyway" principle, that I shall set a reminder on my phone to see what comes in next month.

    The mystery is solved.

Last night DH opened his letters which had come in the previous few days, including one from Tax Credits explaining that they were adjusting my payments for the rest of the year, I think because DS3 is now a Young Person in education rather than a Child.

I was wondering why I hadn't had a letter, but it came today. Yes, that's after I've had the 'odd' payment of £3.

So that's 2 A3 pieces of paper and 1 A4 piece of paper for each of us, plus the postage for two Large Letters. One of each of our pieces of A3 has so few words they could have printed it on 1 side of A4. Actually I rather suspect they could have left it out altogether, for all it adds to the sum of human knowledge ...

Hope you get yours sorted soon, skintas and caleo!
