A brand new musical starring David Essex is coming to the Civic Theatre this month. All the Fun of the Fair is a moving contemporary love story featuring Essex’s hits and album favourites, including Winter’s Tale, Hold Me Close and Gonna Make You a Star. It will show at the Civic Theatre from Monday 22 to Saturday 27 September 2008.
David plays the part of the funfair owner Levi Lee, who is coming to terms with the loss of his wife and the attentions of a newly divorced woman. He is also struggling to deal with his rebellious teenage son’s tangled love life and ambitions.
A traveling fun fair provides the backdrop to this tender tale, which is set against hilarious crafty cons, action packed sequences and plenty of rock and roll.
