Ive got a barclaycard and have had the account for a number of years now never missed a payment (got 3k on the card) and i want to know if i can apply for a barclaycard simplicity with the interest rate of 6.8% for the life of the balance.
i heard somewhere that if i rang barclaycard and said i was going to transfer my balance to another card, but liked the idea of the simplicity card they might transfer the balance onto the simlicity deal. is this possible

Why not just give them a phone and ask? If you have never missed a payment, are on the electoral register and earning then why not consider applying for another 0% card and transfer the balance rather than paying approx 7%?0

A life-of-balance card charges a fixed interest rate for the life of the balance(s) transferred. With Barclaycard Simplicity, your standard APR is variable. This means B'card reserves the right to vary your interest rate, up or down, at any time :eek:People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -

Which credit cards - besides Barclaycard and Lloyds Tsb - do you have at the mo?People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -

If the worst happens, Martin's advice is to transfer what you can. Don't leave an offer unused out of exasperation. It's already on your credit file, so you may as well use it (See Martin's *Credit Card Limit: didn't get what you wanted?* article ) You'll still save money.
To maximise the 0% period on BTs, 15 months is currently available to new customers from Halifax. There's a 3% handling charge

would it not be a good idea to ask for a higher credit limit?0

so if i change to the 6.9% deal - can they change the rate of what i have transfered or just new spends on the card?0
