HFC direct debit without my permission

Hello all,
I'm just looking for a bit of advice.
I went to my bank yesterday (barclays) to see what direct debits were coming off, they gave me a printed breakdown.
HFC bank seem to be taking £15.00 out of my account without my permission, I have never had a loan, why would they be taking money off me?
Something doesnt seem right here, i was just wondering if anyone has experienced a similar thing or if anyone knows who HFC are, and why they are taking my money?
Thank you
Kate

Hi,
I bought a laptop on finance from currys, but that is already coming out of my account, and is listed as currys, if that makes sense... other than that, I have no finance or loans or anything.0 -
Hi there,
Did you take out any insurance with the laptop? Or indeed anything else like that? Like mobile insurance? I can see they do something to do with insurance but cant find anymore info. May not be, but worth checking. However until you know what it is just stop the DD.
As I say first thing I'd do is if you dont think it belongs to you - cancel it straight away, if it is yours they'll soon write to you, guarenteed they'll chase you quicker than you'll get your money back!! Report it to your bank and contact HFC Customer Services:0870 010 0453 (retail branch - whatever than means) and tell them you wish to report a fraud (chances are you'll get little joy on the phones, when do we ever, as if it's not you you wont have account numbers etc to give them but you need to speak to them), they should point you in the right direction and how you go about seeking refund etc. You probably should report it to police on the non emergency line, if it is fraud.
I do know HFC do issue credit cards (ones I have seen have been ones where companies who are not banks/finance places have a card which they sponsor which is in essence a card that belongs to HFC).
You ask why they are taking it - I may have misunderstood the question and if I have my apologies as am trying to help but a DD means they are taking your money as either you (which you know it isnt) or someone who has assumed your identity and has your bank details has provided HFC with those details and authorised HFC to take money from your account.
Will keep fingers crossed you get it sorted PDQ!Debt: LBM = Oct 07 - £21k. DFD - [STRIKE]DEC 10[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]JUN 10 [/STRIKE] [STRIKE]MAY 10[/STRIKE] [STRIKE] MAR 10 [/STRIKE] 5th FEB 10 £0 :money:
