DLA query

HI there
Coudl anybody tell me whether you can apply for DLA when you havent actually been officially diagnosed with a serious illness even tho the consultant is sure it is , but he has to complete some tests to confirm.

    Yes you can as it is not the name of the illness that they are concerned with but any mobility/care needs that you may have.

    My son hadn't been diagnosed the first time he was awarded DLA,in fact we didn't get a diagnosis until 2 years later.
    Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!

    you need to have been affected by your disabilities for 3 months and expected to last for 6 more months minimum to recieve dla.

    you might have better success if you get some help to fill in the forms from someone who does this regularly as you will need to list all the ways the disability affects your daily life- a daunting task.

    you can get help from the cab or your local disability information service.
