Computing student to help with website

Hi
I'm in the process of setting up a small business, and need to set up a pretty basic information website to complement promotional work I'll be doing in person.
I have been looking at Joomla, and I think it can do what I want, and I know what kind of template I want, but don't have the skills to create the template. Basically, I need someone to create the template and set me up and secure a joomla site for me, so I can put all the information in.
Someone suggested to me that I find a computing student who wants to get some experience in web design, and get some experience for their portfolio - does anyone know how I might go about finding someone to do this? I've tried google, and drawn a blank!
thanks
Ambla

Have you got a uni or something that has computing courses?
If so, you could always put a request on the notice board.0 -
Joomla is not something they would teach at uni which could be a problem. It may be difficult to find someone who can create templates on it.
I was only taught ASP.Net etc, so all the nasty boring stuff lol!0 -
but is it not something that they may develop on the side?0

If you get a student (or anybody else to do it), you are then reliant on somebody else if you want to change anything about your site. In the spirit of teaching a man to fish vs giving him a fish...
Here's the tutorial for creating your own Joomla template. It might take you some time, concentration and reading, but you'll learn some very useful skills that you can then do a lot with yourself! Really, you can do it
