Hopefully any other owner out there will not have to go the hell that Gateway/Acer support is.....
Technical support cannot even advise me what motherboard I have so I can update a corrupt BIOS, nope, nada " as its a 3rd party motherboard we dont hold that info & if there is no bios on the support webpage then we cant help you, download http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php to tell you who the motherboard manufacturer is & contact them " !!!!
Well thats all bloody well IF you can get into Windows, Gateway ( to hell ) !!!!!!
can a kind mse'r with the same model run CPUid and post the specs/results please ?

SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe

Eh, the mobo details are on the Gateway site HERE. Don't know why they couldn't find them?

If I was you, I'd be emailing their CEO and making a formal complaint about the support line. If it costs to call them, I'd also be seeking a refund of the call costs.
Always cheaper to ask a geek than call a support line staffed by monkeys reading scripts!0
