Probably best to contact the credit card company and ask
  • Have you closed the account or just cancelled the card?

If it's the account that has closed you will probably receive a cheque for the refund.

If it's the card that's blocked, it's a bit more complicated. If the seller has sent it back to the old card number it could have gone into a holding account, which means weeks of tracing it and getting it back to you.

You should get the money back, it might just be an enduring process given the circumstances.

Either ring your bank's customer services or Disputes team to see if they can help.
