Big thanks for all the advice - especially the not taking No for an answer!! Eventually went armed with print outs of the links into my local branch. After a bit of discussion (all very friendly) and them consulting an email received on Zoom airlines and chargeback on a visa debit they filled the form out for me!

Never even had to have a hissy fit - thank god could not deal with resetting up all my direct debits and stuff ;-)

    that's a great result - I'm really pleased for you x

Glad you got the right result in the end, it shouldn't have been such a struggle for you though.

The sun is out in Ayrshire today, not quite Tenerife but at least it's not raining!

  • Hope this is of help and not seen as spam. If people are looking for alternative accommodation in the Canary Islands after their package holiday company has gone bust, I rent out a beachfront apartment in Playa del Ingles, with prices reduced to £199 for late availability for the whole apartment for a week. You can check out pictures of the views etc at www.spanishdreams.co.uk. There is a fair amount of availability in autumn if anyone needs to book alternative accommodation quickly.
A lot of people are concerned about who they book with in the wake of collapsing airlines and travel companies. If you book with the owner direct, you can usually contact them directly to ask questions and know who you are dealing with and many have secure credit card payment sites which deal with the deposits and final payments.
