Need help to find a cheap flight to Dubai

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone could help me out.
I'm looking at going to Dubai on the 26th December 08- 3rd January 09 to visit family.
I have friends who have paid about £270 return with Air France to Dubai earlier this year, but I can't seem to find a return flight at around this price, I can only find £700+!! I realise that I'm going to be flying at a very busy time of year, but it would be great if I could find flights for less than £500 return.

If anyone has any advice or tips as to where to look for bargain flights to Dubai, I would really appreciate it!

Thank you in advance :o

Flights at that time of year are going to be expensive. Which airports can you travel from?

  • That's very true. Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham at a push!
  • I'm presuming you have done skyscanner?

If so, the only way you will get cheaper is if you go from London. More flights = less expensive. You've left it a bit late, flights have been on sale since Feb.
  • I've just booked this flight from Manchester (via Doha) with Qatar Airlines for £320 each (end of Jan). I noticed that Air France were advertising flights for less, but I'm sure you have tried them?

I'm going in a family group and it's far more cost effective for them to travel to Manchester to fly out. When I costed London flights they came in (surprisingly?) much more expensive. Manchester is our hometown airport, but I still checked other options, none of which came in with better prices.

If you do go with Qatar, then keep an eye on the lay-over times in Doha. They are sometimes as short as 30 minutes? Look at the time of the next flight of the leg, as you are likely to be on that!
