Just applied for a card and been referred..

Hiya,
Just a quick question - I have just applied for a Halifax CC - 10 months on purchases for when we get married in St Lucia in Nov in case of emergencies etc and it got referred.
This worried me slightly so I checked my credit score and it came out at 999 and excellent...
The only reason I can think why is I have recently changed my name and I applied in my new name - which hasnt been updated on the electoral roll yet and my credit report is still in that name (unsure how to change it) but my accounts and mortgage are in the correct new name...
Should I ring them up and explain what has happened?

The difference in surname may well have flagged your application to be looked at more closely but I wouldn't stress. If the name issue worries you that much you could put a Notice Of Correction on your file explaining it but this would result in every application being referred.0
