credit card balance transfer mistake

i transferred some money from one credit card to another, but i transferred it from the wrong credit card, so i am in credit by quite a bit to that credit card and in debt to the other credit cards. i rang the first credit card and asked them to put the money back, but they said they can't. and will send me a cheque through the post after 10 days from when i rang. is there another way of sorting this out, anyone can you help, thankyou.

this is unfortunate it also happened to me but not in the same circumstances you could try to get the company to electronically transfer the amount back to the original source instead of posting you a cheque but they may charge for this. Alternatively try paying the company a cash transfer back from the other card but this also will have charges incurred as it will be like a cash withdrawl on the credit card account.
