  • Just collected my last few brochures for C2. Have been leaving a brochure with one lady for 6 months, she's never ordered but always asks for another book. Tonight she gave me an order for £45.50 You see! Patience really is a virtue. Have about £230 worth of orders so far, so am dead chuffed x

  • Sessal - sorry never done a party, but I know several regulars on here have done, so I'm sure someone will come up with some ideas for you (when they're all back from their Christmas 'holidays', that is :-D)

  • Hi all. Hope you had a lovely Christmas and New year. I do follow the thread and have got loads of great tips and motivation when I'm feeling down! but I was hoping someone may be able to assit a bit. Is it worth buying the bumper boxes on the back of HT4. I was thinking that it may be a way of having a 'stock' at home with the hopes it may get ordered or for extra bonuses for customers. However, it would seem a little pointless if all the stock was now discontinued. I thought about ordering it for a look but the promotion states that the box can only be returned unopened. Does anyone get these and are they worth it in your opinion?

    Thanks, Vicky.
  • I have to say I'm very wary of buying items for 'stock' as each time I've done so I've got stuck with them! You tend to find that even if the items are ordered, you have to order from the brochure because it has a free gift or a multibuy or something

In that case, the only thing you can do is to return the 'stock' one (which you can if there is a 'paid for' one to match it to) - I've never yet been asked for a free gift back when I've done that, but of course they'll only credit the multibuy or reduced amount.

I'm not at all sure that makes sense, but I know what I mean and it is Monday morning :rotfl:

minigirl762003 - i think we'll get the demo bag after 6th campaign has finished as ive already reached the £1500 sales in my first 3/4 campaigns and have not received it and i *think* you get it only if you submit an order in all 6 campaigns IYSWIM but dont quote me on that..

salsaaddict - id tell your asm you have dropped there incase its someone elses territory (even though they havent seen a book)

whatever123456 - I cant see it in C4 brochure either, if it has been discontinued could you just market it as a sample of the type of thing you can get in the ANEW range? and point out in the C4 brochure on page 28/29 your customers can buy other trial sized products to test the rest of the current range before they commit to a full sized product?

Sesssal - Ive not done a party either but i am considering doing them later in the year... sorry I cant help at the min but maybe google it and see if you can find any ideas? I know there are other places on the net there are AVON discussions.

vicallen2004 - I think i read somewhere alot of the items in the bumper box are discontinued.. I personally wouldnt be sure about paying out for a box i didnt know what was in it! But then again im not a gambler..... If you and really did want some stock why not look through your past orders and find your most popular items then keep an eye on the brochure/HT's to see when they are on a great offer and use the money you'd buy the bonus box on buying stuff you know your customers consistently buy? that way its more likely you wont end up with lots of "stock" you cant shift and possible bag yourself some extra commission if they order it when its NOT on offer.

I dont think ill be keeping much "stock", i got landed with a £50 anniversary pack and have been unable to shift most of it... even by giving all my customers a list of everything i had "in stock" with massive discounts on it... still not one order from the list! (and me and my OH keep having arguments about the boxes of "AVON c**p" everywhere from the small amount of stock i do have and my brochures, paperwork etc :o :rotfl: )

I covered 48 new houses yesterday so im *hoping* to pick up some new customers... am doing very poor with orders again, if i dont count my OH's order (which i think he's done out of sympathy again...) or the stuff i want... i have only got £70.50 in customer orders for C3 and my order goes in on thursday.:( I'm finding alot of people are saying they just dont have the money at the moment.... I'm gutted too i had a customer say they werent ordering but had considered the seksy watch which is £22 but wasnt sure and not wanting to be pushy i said dont worry if she wasnt sure .. now i wish i had pushed her... but thats not my style! :o:o
  • Thanks Ellibee and Johanne. I see what you mean about the stock. My other half is already hinting about our lives being taken over by stationary and Avon books. Plus £30 is a lot of money to gamble on when my take home money is approx £70 per campaign and that takes alot of time and wandering the streets. Money is too precious at the moment!
  • Johanne, I know just what you mean. 'Pushy' isn't my style either.........some people can do it brilliantly, but not me

Perhaps, the next time, the answer should be a tentative 'well, you can always return it if you change your mind'. Hopefully, having seen it, she wouldn't want to part with it ;)

Mind you, hindsight is a perfect science!

i did tell her she could get it next time if she thought about it and decided she wanted it... but just noticed its not in the next book.!!! DOH!

Dont know whether to pop a note through her door saying:

"Hi ***** , just to let you know Ive just seen the preview of the next book and the Seksy watch you mentioned is not in it.

I know you said you weren't sure about whether or not to order it so would you like to me to order it so you can see it in person and then decide on whether to keep it or not? As if it isn't suitable I can just simply return it at no cost to you.

Let me know by wednesday 10pm. Thanks Jo"

Do you think that sounds pushy??

    Any tips for parties guys?
    Thank you

Sessal - I have some great word documents about preparing for avon parties, games to play etc, but they are too big to copy and paste, if you pm me your email address I will send them to you (I got them from flissys, didn't do them myself).

    Sounds brill to me :D

Alternatively, you could just order it and take it round to show her. If she doesn't want it, you can put it down as a return immediately and deduct it from the invoice.
