Airports near to Twickenham

I ma trying to book flights for a rugby match in Twickenham on 18th October but i can't seem to get the right times into Heathrow. Which would be the next nearest airport? I would like to take advantage of the Ryanscare £1 offer but i've no idea how long it would take to travel from Stansted.

Can anyone help??

other airports would be gatwick or luton
stanstead isnort east of london, complete opposite end to twickenham, if you go to luton you could get a coach to heathrow, than get on the train there to twickenham

  • what train to twickenham would that be? there isnt one...there is no british rail station at heathrow so he would have to go into london and back out again....however there are buses which would most likely take about half an hour.

Southampton is worth considering. Very good train service to London Waterloo - change at Woking and/or Clapham Jct for Twickers.

The tube doesn't go to Twickenham or Whitton - they are railway stations on the line out of Waterloo. The best bet is bus 281 from Heathrow which stops at the rugby ground

When we go to Twickenham, we get the tube to Richmond (District Line) and walk from there, which takes about 30 mins. You can walk along part of the river, before having a nosy in other people's gardens. :D Just depends how much time you have on your hands.
