Comet repairs

A couple of weeks ago I had an all day slot booked for an engineer from Comet to come and fix our faulty washing machine (it's under guarantee)

Due to an error by the girl I booked the slot with, the engineer went to the wrong address and so I wasted a whole day indoors, despite phoning Comet halfway through the day and being reassured that he was on his way.

Has anyone had any joy claiming compensation/vouchers for this sort of thing? I complained by phone but was told that I had to write a letter for this type of claim....

I'll nip in before Brooker and his tedious acolytes jump on you.

Did you suffer any financial loss from this? You can't claim compensation for inconvenience, and even if you did suffer a financial loss you'll find it more effort to quantify it and try claiming for it that is worthwhile.

In summary, very annoying but just put it behind you.

British Gas pay £10 or something for any missed appointment. Comet may offer similar, write a letter as requested.
