1000 Bonus Clubcard Points with Eon

I was in Tesco last week and they were offering a bonus of 1000 clubcard points if you switched in store.

I've been looking on the comparison sites and I'm considering Eon but then I read Martin's switching article and took heed of the on-line tariff warning.

I just rang Eon to see if their on-line tariffs had been increased (they haven't yet) and at the same time asked when their Tesco switching team would be in my area again. She wasn't able to give me this information BUT did say that if I rang and switched with her, then they would honour the bonus.

If you are going over to Eon and you like to convert your Clubcard points to Days Out Tokens, then that is worth £40 - comparable with the bonuses offered by the other switching sites. So do you prefer cash, days out tokens or wine?

PS: The lady at Eon said they were waiting for British Gas to increase their on-line tariffs.

Eon tend to b*gger about with their cashback rates regularly. They have been as high as £70 for dual fuel this year, for instance. Maybe best to wait until they get desparate again?
