perhaps you should provide all of the facts to demonstrate clearly that CIS were at fault rather than you.
it hardly seems fair to condem them with no right of reply does it?0 -
OK. I had my mobile phone stolen outside a theatre in June. I reported it missing to the police and phoned CIS the next day to get my claim in. They said I would be entitled to the replacement value of my phone which I bought for £230 plus £25 worth of calls made before the contract was stopped. I left them to get on with processing the claim. 2 weeks later I phoned to ask how it was going. They said they were waiting for me to send them the original receipt for the phone. I asked them why they hadn't asked me for it but no answer. So I duly sent them the receipt. Another 2 weeks went by and I phoned again. This time they said they had referred it to another company who would contact me about a replacement phone. No call came so i phoned CIS again, who promised to investigate. This is now the summer holidays, I have bought a new phone for £159 (IPhone with £35 month contract). I get back from my holiday to find nothing from them so I phone again (this is now mid August). They say they are waiting for my phone bill (again without asking for it). I send this in and yet 2 weeks later I still hear nothing. I ring up exasperated last week when finally they say I can have the £159 I paid for my new phone, minus my excess of £50. I argued that I should get the original value of the phone but in the end I was just glad to get something out of this whole charade. I still haven't received the cheque though, so I wouldn't be surprised if I have to chase it yet again.
If any of you would be happy with that level of service to get a paltry £100 out of a huge insurance company, then please go ahead. Me, I wouldn't touch them again with a barge pole.0 -
