    The 3% BOE figure is mentioned in their 'Saving and investing for the future' booklet* (page 14).
    YorkshireBoy, what does that booklet (which I can't see on their website) say about the bonus in the event of death during the first year? The interest figure they've quoted me for my late mother's account would appear not to include the bonus.

    The T&C's only seem to cover death of a joint account holder.

    Death of the sole account holder isn't mentioned (in either the booklet you mention or the official T&C's booklet).

    OK. Most don't penalise in the event of early closure on account of death but I can't recall whether I checked YBS's terms. I'll call in and ask.
