I really hope that people don't fall for this marketing ploy/scheme.I love the way that they are selflessly offering to 'shield' homebuyers from a fall in house prices.
Yes - that's right. All you people wanting to buy a home at an affordable price instead of the vertigo inducing figure of recent years, Barratt will help you out by 'shielding you' from having to pay less for it.
Speaking as a future buyer, let me just thank Barratt for pulling out the stops to protect me from the dangers of moneysaving :rotfl:
If you need to clear stock, you just keep dropping the price until it all sells.
The danger of this is that you then set a new 'value' for the item.
Most people on here understand that the scheme is just a mask, a tricksy ploy to fool people...I hope new posters considering it find this thread
It will be the newbuilds that hasten the decline but it all depends on how deep their (or thier bankers) pockets are.
The issues of repo BTL's that are being held back by some banks and having a seperate dept to continue runnig them as rentals (I can't remeber where I read that) is because many aren't selling at auction (because we watch them go unsold)...but at some point, banks aren't going to want to run depts like this for ever...it's not what they do.
Schemes like this really annoy me as, once upon a time, I may have been fooled by it....believing that a big, reputable company would never, ever trade in any way that was remotely......how shall we say...scammy.0 -

Developers are the new 2nd hand car salespersons  .... trying any underhand trick to get you to buy ... offering you all these schemes to 'help' you, when in fact it's just so they can sell their stock as quickly as possible.
I know this is harsh, but anyone going for this is bringing a lot of future problems on themselves.... but people still will you can bet on that, as many FTB's will still trust Barratt are doing them a favour with these....0 -
Or you put it in a garage or loft to moulder and take the loss.pickles110564 wrote: »:rotfl: :rotfl:
Are you real?
Something in hand is worth more than nothing sometimes.
Same with any thing you're selling including houses...except you can't put those in the loft.0 -
