Looks like they are paying stamp duty on houses under 500k, right then thats made my mind up, plasterboard palace here I come, er NOT

When are they going to get it???, drop the price out of the straosphere and the buyers will return... it isn't rocket science.

For me - also leave enough parking for 2 cars, build the garage so that I can actually park my car there AND get out of it without the need of cutting the roof of, and also - leave me some garden and some distance between houses - I don't really fancy sharing my cup of tea with the next door neighbour through the window!

And... don't leave me with a garden that consists of 1 foot of top soil over 5 tons of builders rubble.

Been there, bought the t-shirt, filled the skips, broke my pickaxe handle.

I know - I was wondering why my grass is making odd coloured shapes.... And when I tried to remove some of the plants from the front garden, I couldn't believe what was there. And there was not even 1 foot of top soil, more like 1 inch....

P.S. We have sold the house since...

lol, I had a dry area of grass that was in a perfect rectangle. Turned out that it was a drain cover burried just under the lawn.

I love the way that they are selflessly offering to 'shield' homebuyers from a fall in house prices.

Yes - that's right. All you people wanting to buy a home at an affordable price instead of the vertigo inducing figure of recent years, Barratt will help you out by 'shielding you' from having to pay less for it.

Speaking as a future buyer, let me just thank Barratt for pulling out the stops to protect me from the dangers of moneysaving :rotfl:

Every pound less borrowed (to buy a house) is more than two pounds less to repay and more than three pounds less to earn, over the course of a typical mortgage.

When I first saw the advert in the newspaper this morning I read it as they would give you back 15% of the drop in price - wonder if they've chosen their wording to be as unclear as possible on the offchance anyone might be interested?
