Help with my Creative Zen V Plus (Firmware problem)

Morning all!
This morning my Creative Zen V Plus mp3 player flashed up with a firmware problem, asking me to upgrade to the latest firmware. No problem, I've downloaded it from the creative website BUT my computer is now not recognising the player.
It needs to be off for the computer to recognise it. I'm having trouble turning it off in the first place (will only turn off if I pin the reset button) As soon as I connect to the computer it turns itself on with the firmware message before the computer has a chance to find it.

Anybody had this or knows what I can do??
Also if I can't fix it, what are Creative like for replacements? I bought the player in Argos (May 30th). I don't have a receipt, but bank statements to prove this. Argos don't offer a money back on this item.

Thank you to anyone that can help

Its obviously messed it up. As you havnt made a backup then theres absolutely nothing you can do im afraid. I would suggest getting a replacement(IF you want another of course) and DONT try upgrading the firmware in future (Firmware is always tricky)

    Thank you for your help.
I didn't try upgrading the firmware to begin with, It flashed with firmware failure before I had even done anything. I then followed the instructions as given on the Creative website, using their own mp3 fix tool.
