Help with parking company

Hi there,
I had purchased parking for an event at wembley stadium from a company called parking at wembley. I found them online by looking through google and their advert says "next to Wembley stadium", although now its been changed to "secure wembley stadium car parking licensed and approved". Well I booked because I thought they were right next to wembley stadium, and their website says they do not give the exact address as they don't want people turning up without booking. But now I have had the address sent to me via email it is no where near wembley stadium and I am really very annoyed about this.
They charge a £5 admin fee but claim they will not refund me anyway as it is too close to the event. What can I do about this? The company are very aggressive and rude on the phone. Also the bit about them being licensed is in relation to clamping(!!) not parking, but I assume they put that bit in to fool people like me into thinking they are official somehow. God I feel like an idiot.
Have a look on google by searching for the words "wembley stadium parking" and you will see the sponsored links with the company I am talking about. http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=wembley+stadium+parking&btnG=Search&meta=
I am really, really frustrated and annoyed, at myself I think more than anything else but surely there is some protection from this kind of thing by law?
Can I cancel and get my money back? I want to park in wembley stadium not about 20 minutes walk!!!
Any help really appreciated.

I don't really know where you stand with getting your mponey back but the chances of you parking in the stadium are less than zero I'm afraid.
What's the address of the car park they've given you? There are quite a few businesses open up their car park on event days (for a fee) but are probably a 15 to 20 minute walk anyway.
Parking around the stadium is very limited and without a residents permit I don't think you will get any closer.0 -
I thought Wembley was specifically designed making it public transport friendly, and thus discouraging people from using their cars.
Therefore, when they say that it's Wembley stadium car parking, it's possibly about as near as you'll get to parking there, hence they make that claim.
Annoying as it is, I'm not sure you can get your money back, so just use the parking space, write a few online reviews warning people how far away it is, and in future don't use them again.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Depending on what you are going to see 20 minutes walk could save you an hour sitting in traffic trying to get out of the stadium car parks, which will have been over priced anyway. It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0

Thanks for the replies everyone.
I have spoken to wembley stadium and they say the only official way to park with them is on a website called csparking. Anyone else calling themselves wembley stadium parking like that is not being honest. Apparently wembley stadium already know of this company and have involved their lawyers as i'm not the only one to have been duped like this by this company they have had lots of complaints.
I've looked into this now quite a bit and there are many companies much nearer than this one and they do not claim to be wembley stadium or next to wembley stadium when they are not, problem is they were fully booked. I think i might just have to use the space but I heard you can park in businesses car parks in the area surrounding the stadium for about £15 to £20 on the day but how reliable that info is i don't know as i also heard a lot of them were scams where they would cover up parking signs, park you up and then once everyone was in wembley they would remove the signs and scarper only for the clamping company to remove your car!
I think i'll just make use of this space (it is located on Forty Lane) but i dont think i'll go to wembley ever again! I didn't fancy the tube option as i thought that would be overcrowded too. oh well i'll let you know how i get on.0 -
Google 'wembley parking'. There are quite a few stations north of Wembley on the Metropolitan Line which have NCP car parks attached (attendant controlled entry as well) and offer all day parking for less than £10.
As regards the Tube being overcrowded, I used this for the FA Cup Final and it didn't seem any worse than tubes in Central London at rush hour. Unless you have mobility issues or are claustrophobic, I would definitely recommend this option without hesitation. (Incidentally, we paid £5 to park and £4 each for the return fare on the Tube which was about 15 minutes each way).Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0 -
I think i would tell them to refund me the money,or I will complain to whoever licences clampers (is it the sia?) because they have been misleading people about which licences they hold. That should do the trick.0
