no lock on page

Would really love some help with this.

I have not been getting any locks or keys at the bottom of a page when I try to buy or enter personal info online.

Really worried as I have already suffered from fraud online.

Any Help would be great.

Thank you

No lock = not secure = don't enter any of your credit / debit card details.

if you are seeing this on standard sites like Amazon...you need to check your PC out for a virus / trojan.

Not necessarily. An example is frames, one of the pages in the frames may have SSL but the frame page itself doesn't, in which case the padlock won't show but it will be secure. There are other techniques too.

As a rule of thumb though, if there isn't a padlock, ask someone, and if still in doubt, don't use the site.
