Paid via Paypal, need to pay again...?

Bought an item off ebay on September 3rd for 6quid. Paid via Paypal there and then. Got the confirmation email from Paypal. The 6 quid is showing as leaving my account.
The following day I recieve an email from ebay saying there was a problem with the transaction and I need to pay again.

I sent the email to spoof@ebay.co.uk as I wasn't sure about it. They came back and told me it's genuine.

Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this...?

Forget the emails... have you logged into your PP account to find out what's going on?

  • Yes, the 6 quid is showing as leaving my account on the correct day to the correct person with the correct reference number.

How was the first payment funded? Do you have any expired cards, maybe? Could the payment be in the process of bouncing?
Would like to see the 'need to pay again' email.

There's a chance that the seller could have put their email address in the sell-your-item form incorrectly (such as put .com rather than .co.uk) I've heard of people doing that before - ask them to confirm the email address that PayPal funds are sent to.
  • Seems to be the bug pointed out by Fay above. All sorted now. Well I say that, the item has been delivered lol
