Play the little game
The prize is a 9 day ski trip of the Haute Route, the itinerary is planned over 9 days to allow plenty of time for preparation and provision for bad weather. The prize includes; 8 days services of a UIAGM Mountain Guide, 3 nights hotel accommodation on a BB basis, 5 nights alpine hut accommodation on a DBB basis, return transfer from Zermatt to Chamonix, all group ski-touring equipment required for the trip (Maps, GPS, Rope etc). There is no alternative to the prize offered.
It is recommended that you are suitable for the grading of this trip: The challenging graded trekking trip is suitable for people who are regular hill-walkers or trekkers and have experience of walking for a sustained number of days. You may need to improve your fitness prior to the trip to cope with up to eight hours challenging walking each day both in the valleys and over high mountain passes. You can expect a variety of trail conditions albeit most of the trekking should be well defined mountain paths. You may encounter altitudes of up to 5,000m and possibly more in the case of some mountain ascents. The challenging trips require extended periods of camping with the majority of the accommodation tent based.
The prize draw is only open to people aged 18 or over and must be a resident of Great Britain.
The prize must be taken on the trek from 18-26 March 2009, the winners' details will be passed onto Wilderness Scotland Ltd, who will be hosting the trek. It is up to the prize winner to arrange transport between Geneva Airport and Chamonix on the first and last day, personal ski touring equipment, ski uplift and transfers, international flights, airport taxes and fees, insurance and visas, meals not mentioned in the itinerary, incidental personal expenditure e.g. alcoholic drinks, laundry.
