So, positive steps have been made since I was last here...
had the big talk with my parents who have (very generously) given me £2k towards paying off my debt. I was reluctant to accept but feel it could a good kick start. paid off card 4 with stupid interest rate.
have also begun looking for a new better paid job closer to home to cut down on my huge travelling costs.
have cancelled gym subscription and negotiated a better phone deal. also started the spending diary although its hard to remember to track every little thing. feel really positive about everything at least for now.0 -
Wow, good progress, nice one.
How lovely of your parents, you can use it as an extra kick to stay on the straight and narrow (just think how bad you will feel if yu rack it back up after they have given you that, and you can always have it as an aim to give it back to them when you are debt free if it will make you feel better)
Have yu put your new totals into the snowball calculator to compare your debt free date with your situation when you first posted.
I know spending diaries can be a pain, you could keep a notebook in your bag where you tuck receipts into and jot down the spends you don't get receipts for, mine is like that and has a bit of elastic that goes round it which keeps all the bits of paper in it£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)
