Heatwise with Eon - how does it work?

I've just moved into a flat, which is wired up for the Heatwise tariff.

That is, storage heaters, and two immersion heaters in the water tank (one connected to peak, and one off-peak). No gas.

Spoken to Eon, who have just confused me more.

It was my understanding that Heatwise gave me off-peak electricity between something like 11pm-8am, and 1-3pm an 5-8pm, something like that.

This would make sense, as I would just do things during those hours.

But, I rang them and apparently its: (taken from a Eon document):
Special 10 hour Heatwise Service (LLFID 011). Metered on a discontinuous basis on three
registers (Afternoon, Evening/Night and Boost). The Heatwise option is available only for
approved, hard-wired loads, and only in combination with the Standard Domestic charge or
Standard Domestic plus Economy 7 option. Metering points must be physically co-located.
Afternoon, Evening and Night may be either dynamic or static periods falling within the
following time windows:
Afternoon:
Monday to Friday - 3 hours between 1pm and 4.30pm;
Saturday and Sunday - 3 hours between 1pm and 5.30pm
Evening:
Monday to Sunday - 2 hours between 5.30pm and 10pm;
Night:
Monday to Friday - 5 hours between midnight and 7am;
Saturday and Sunday - 5 hours between midnight and 8am
All the above are clock time

Obviously, "3 hours between 1-4.30" and all that, is not the entire period. So, how on earth does it work, when does the cheap period start?

Eon just kept saying "its X continous hours between those times", which doesn't help at all, she just kept re-reading her info and I don't think she knew really that much about it.

Anyone know anymore? :confused:
