I am on Chucky's side with this one.
Here...
"The average starting salary is £35,500, well above the average UK graduate starting salary of £23,500 (salary data collected February 08). After three or more years, salaries may range between £50,000 and £75,000. Those with significant experience may earn a base salary of around £150,000 (salary data collected February 08). "
I would copy link but its very long, so as Chucky suggests - type into Google "investment banker average salary"
his claim was "the average salary of an investment bankers is between £35k and £50k dependant on who you work for."

Every pound less borrowed (to buy a house) is more than two pounds less to repay and more than three pounds less to earn, over the course of a typical mortgage.0 -
I've had a brief google for an article I re-read this week about City salaries versus city lawyer salaries but I can't find it ATM. Basically the crux is that some City law firms' NQ salaries now equal or top entrance earnings for the finance sector for the first time (I think it was a 2007 article but not sure). Top NQ salaries for solicitors are £90-96 K0

That's just one hand-picked source by chucky, that's hardly representative. And even the one he chose proves he's wrong. And ignores bonuses which is the major part of their salary anyway. So 2/10 for chucky and that's being generous
It's not that suprising, I don't think chucky can read very well, he has to get his Mum to help him out. :rotfl:0 -

To redeem myself I will also shout HOUSE PRICES WILL FALL at every opportunity, until the [strike]nutters[/strike] good folk of MSE forgive me.;)0 -
Ah, I didn't read it closely enough. Then I have mistakenly defended a bull and I will be saying several Hail Mary's and [strike]pleasuring[/strike] punishing myself with a birch twig for several hours this eventide.

I think you may have been so astounded that he actually provided quotes to back up his claims, that you may have been under the impression that his claims were in line with what the quotes said
An easy trap to fall in to.
As I say though - welcome baby steps toward proper debating from the chuckmeister.--

Give chuckey a break. He spent a couple of hours finding that web site.
It's just a shame it proved absolutely nothing, quite the opposite in fact.Krusty & Phil Madoff, 1990 - 2007:

Have you not kissed and made up yet?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
Yes, IT is highly skilled. Sack all the bankers and give all of us IT workers huge pay rises I say

Typical investment bank back office employee is on about £20-40k pa plus health insurance, season ticket loan and gym membership. Bonus would be 5-25% typically.
'Core hours' 8am-6pm. Will finish later probably half-2/3rds of the time.
Middle office has much the same salary but with the possibility of a considerably higher bonus. Earlier start and finish times.0 -
Chucky get your tongue out of Generali's ar*e. There, be a good boy.0
