PO Boxes VS Virtual Office (Price) and Best Business Telephone Numbers

I am currently considering starting an Information Publishing business working from home but I live (annex) with my parents......which is sad I know but have some credit cards to pay off....guess that's why I am on here.

Not sure if this correct Forum Thread either for my query?....here goes

I am looking to make the BEST BUSINESS IMPRESSION but am not sure if I should be thinking of getting a POBoxAddress or just using my family/home address to put on any of my Direct Mail, DVD cases, and website.

I am not expecting a lot of mail from customers as I take most online orders via PayPal online. may get a few order forms in mail with cheques etc.

I am thinking that most people outside my home town couldn't care less if use my home address as my business address - I am a self-employed sole trader anyhow and have no employees to worry about, and this address option is FREE. I would just use a new business name instead and register this with Companies House so at least I have a professional business name.

I think PoBox addresses may look a bit tacky to my website visitors and on my DVD cases......and I think there are charges involved?

Also I need to sort out my telephone numbers for incoming business calls.

I do not have access to the BT line in my house - so need to locate other business telephone options to give to my customers - not sure if an 0845 would work - as involves a costly charge and would need to be redirected to BT line anyhow)

What I am thinking of doing is using a VOIP service like Skype on my PC which takes incoming calls on a geographic number which I purchase from Skype and I can request forwarding to my mobile number for purposes of calling back customers.

I welcome any suggestions.....can you confirm this sounds ok to you OR offer other solutions.

Thanks
Mike
