in Credit cards
Hi All
My egg card account was closed in January 2008 by them, even though i did not miss any payments.
They have also increased the APR from 15.9% variable to a staggering 26.9%
My balance is £5500.
I have checked my credit file and it is good with a good credit score of 900, but i have just been refused a 0% balance transfer card with Capitol one -offering me an alternative with no 0% balance transfer.
Applying for credit cards puts a footprint on yr credit record, so my question is - Should I apply for another 0% with another provider, as i am desperate to get out of EGG as the interest alone each month is approx £117.00
Thanks
David

Do you have any missed/late payments on your credit file? Are you on the electoral register? These will make a difference when applying for a credit card. If you dont have any missed payments then it might be worth applying for another 0% credit card as I believe the Capital one requires an excellent credit rating.0

Hi
No missed payments apart from one late i.e a few days late. I am on the elctrol register.
I have checked my credit report with experian and i have good credit score of 900
In fact i tick all there boxes for a good payer
So I am confused0 -
I dont know what 900 means in the grand scheme of things. If you are earning and dont have huge loans etc, you could try applying for another 0% balance transfer card. Even if its just 6 months it would help and then you could apply for another and move it again.
Make sure that you dont miss any payments on anything to maximise chances of future applications being successful.
If you haven't already read the articles on credit reports and credit cards0
