Question regarding JSA

Hi,
I am currently claiming JSA for myself and my wife. I have signed a Jobseekers Agreement and visit JC every fortnight to sign-on.
My question is...If I end my claim for JSA, can my wife immediately make a claim herself (and claim for me)? Meaning that she would be the one with the Jobseekers agreement, getting the help to find work and signing-on (kind of a role reversal).
Might sound a bit strange or pointless but we have our reasons and I would be happy to explain further if needed (already did once but when I went to preview the post it all went wrong and got deleted  ).
Thanks for your help.

As long as the person who signs on is able to work, willing to work and actively seeking work, then there shouldn't be a problem.
I would imagine there are children in the family unit to consider or both of you would be signing on already.
If this is the case, childcare issues would not be something to restrict the availibility of your partner so she would be expected to be looking for full time work (ie 40 hours per week)0 -
Thanks ukdickie31, yes we have one child hence only me signing atm.
I appreciate the help.
Cheers,
