You're more than welcome to come round Kola :) You'll have to sit on the stairs though - would that be ok? :D

Finally sent off my passport to be renewed - robbing so-n-so's! They won't accept certified copies of anything so I've paid for special delivery so nothing disappears. My photo looks terrible :(

On a good note we've been invited to tea round the in-laws tonight :) The food shall be scrummy but I alway feel a bit awkward as they have family visiting and I don't speak Dutch. I'd like to learn but its one of things I haven't got round to and DH is no good.

We've invited the cousins round for dinner tomorrow (think I'll make toad-in-the-hole as they've never had that) but I'm not 100% sure if they're coming or not. Maight make an apple pie just in case though :) nomnomnomnom

Sounds like you've got it all planned :T
Xmas menu sounds yummy :D have you ever cooked Poussin? how many are you cooking for?
Am more than happy to help out with advice re cooking! Am a trained french chef and have worked in a fair few restaurants around the world...

The solution with the dutch is lots of wine  and big smiles, then you will understand each other no problems!

I think you'll agree it's important that both a toad in the hole and an apple pie are made. [For your relatives, naturally, just in case they come...]

If they don't come however, the toad in the hole and the apple pie are to be posted to manchester and we will [STRIKE]eat[/STRIKE] take care of them for you, to avoid any waste. Deal? :D

Hi Froggy :) Thank you for the offer. I cooked two poussin for me and DH a couple of weeks ago and they turned out fab. However I'm going to be cooking 8-10 at once! May I pick your brain and ask how much longer I should put them in for when cooking such a large batch?
If they don't come however, the toad in the hole and the apple pie are to be posted to manchester and we will eat take care of them for you, to avoid any waste. Deal?

:D Are you suggesting that me and DH are unable to eat all that food by ourselves? Or are you trying to save our waistlines? :rotfl:

On second thoughts....I'd be happy to post dinner to you Kola for a nominal fee ;)

You can PM me with your cooking questions... Would really need an average weight for the poussin you're cooking (rough figure will do), and will you be cooking anything else in the oven at the same time?
I might have an idea depending what you want to do with the bacon, which might save you a bit of time and hassle... have u got a sauce planned with the poussin?

Your Christmas menu sounds very posh. I am doing boxing day lunch for 9 (at the minute, may go up to 14:eek:) and will be doing the squeezing the table in the living room thing too. I don't have a table big enough so think I might put two wall papering tables together and bring out the emergency chairs;) You have given me an idea about sticking the coffee table outside on the patio as it is huge and heavy and we will never lift it up the stairs.

I have got as far as Dame Alice soup to start and a choice of Chocolate Fudge Pudding or Tiramsu for desert. Still undecided if to do lamb or pork or something completely different.
