  • It's weekly for food toiletries the usual household things. thanks. I go online applying for jobs at the places you mentioned frequently if they have vacancies. I'm not much use am I, quite a waste of space really.. Just want to say a big thank you for trying to help. It means a lot. x
  • hi lilaclily

with regards to the jobs - the 5 you applied for last week may not have closed yet, I'd give it another a week or so at least. Try B&Q, I understand they have a really positive employment policy for 'mature' staff. Also, try your local authority - they are normally pretty hot on being equal to all applicants.

Your husband is going to have to work with you to help sort this out as it's in his best interest - if the card is in his name then the debt is his responsibility (in the eyes of the CC company) and it will be him they chase, not you.

Sorry, he isn't more helpful financially :(

Please don't beat yourself up about it, you've taken a big step to turn the situation around and you aren't stupid, just wanting something which had been denied to you and was possibly filling in for something else in your life.

Going to be a bit blunt here.

The problem is not that you are a waste of space, but that you OH has been telling you that you are a waste of space? And you believe him, so when you go for an interview, you lack the confidence to sell yourself?

Do you get any sort of carer's allowance or maintenance for Ellen?
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
  • I am going to echo everyone else - you are not a waste of space. Please please don't let your OH make you believe that you are.

Now, from a practical point of view - what hours could you work? Is full time possible around Ellen or would something based at home be more realistic? Definitely trying your local council - would you be interested in working as a social work carer for people living nearby perhaps?

    £80.00 house keeping

Of course you're not a waste of space. It sounds as if your OH is a bit of a tightwad tbh. No wonder you can't manage if that's all you're getting and it includes your own spending money. I'm on a pretty average income and I give my wife £150 a week house keeping. I wish it could be more.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.
  • Just wanted to say you are not a waste of space and I'm sure Ellen doesn't think you are.
