New Central heating

Hi
Just got oursleves a new central heating system in, as we have just moved into a new house.
We have a wee digital control unit to funnily enough control the boiler temp.
It has default setting's on it for various times for the day, which i have just changed to suit.
anyway the main question is when we are not in the house or at night the default was set at 15 degrees so i just left that. is 15 degrees as good as off ??? stupid i know.
it just in my last house the combi was either on or off and u changed the rads to suit.
So pretty unsure, does this mean its on all the time to keep the 15 degrees which i know is not that warm for a house.
i'am even confusing myself here
so is it just me or does that not mean the heating part of the boiler is working 24 hrs a day.
Or am i just living in the dark ages of combi boilers.
Cheers

15 degrees is definately not off.
We keep ours set at a minimum of 15 degrees overnight from 11.30 pm to 6.30am and 20 degrees during the day
via a programmable thermostat.
Sometimes at night the temp falls below 15 and the heating comes on which is fine by me or else it would get way to cold.
I guess its what your used to.......0
