... From what I can gather it seems that my best defence is to deny that it was me who was driving the car at the time as the law states it is the driver, not the registered owner who is liable. Being a private car park and a private company, they will be unable to prove it was me, especially as my offence was not criminal. Also, the 30 minute sign is not that clear!
I wouldn't bother contacting them at all, the onus is on them to prove who the driver was, not on you to prove anything at all.

As for the driver being "liable", they would have to establish that their charge did not constitute an unfair penalty under the law of contract, which may be difficult. You haven't committed any "offence", all you've done is breached an implied contract with a private company, for which they have issued you with an invoice. Very unlikely that they can enforce it if you don't pay, though.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

does anyone have any ideas of how to get out of a parking fine at a train station, for parking in disabled bay without a disabled sticker.

    any loopholes at all?
the car park, which is supposed to be a park and ride was completely full and I had no option but to park there, I was wondering whether there was anything with regards to how the park and ride caters for the numbers within the area?

    thanks

You deserve the fine, imagine that some poor disabled person turns up and misses their train because your parked in their space

Whats the point in having the bays if turds like you park in them
