Yes except student loans, fines etc, all normal "unsecured credit" debts are written of in BR But depending on your surplus income will depend if you have to contribute to your BR estate in the form of an IPA for 36 monthsThats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….

What about council tax? please say council tax owed is written off.0
-
Yes it is, up to the date of bankruptcy all arrears are included and most councils will send you a new bill for the remainder of this year. There are a few who will write off this year too, as it's actually due in April so technically a pre-BR debt and they are doing you a favor by letting you spread it over 10 months.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Thank you to all those that have helped and responded.
Is there anyone who can explain why they will not accept an offer or haggle? They said they would settle for 15K, so there is a point somewhere that they will write the dept off.0 -

If they let you pay a 20k debt for 3k and word got out that they had done so could you imagine what every debtor would do?

If you did haggle wouldn't that be classed as favouring one creditor over another??
